This English-instructed Double Master’s Degree Program is specially established by the School of Economics of Fudan for international students, with the aim of cultivating comprehensive talents who are familiar with Chinese Economy. Besides learning the general theory of macro-economics, micro-economics and Chinese economy, students also learn professional knowledge from such aspects as Chinese business, Chinese trade, Chinese capital market and financial system, Chinese tax system, China’s industrial policy, China’s energy and environmental economy, China’s social security system and Chinese language and culture. After finishing all relevant courses, students will carry out scientific research work of Master’s degree thesis under the guidance of professional teachers. This program is catering to the overall situation of the emergence of China’s economy and the building of Shanghai into an international financial center, and to the urgent demand of people from all over the world to research on Chinese economy and understand Chinese society, and meanwhile, therefore, it is one of the most featured programs in the economic discipline in Chinese universities, it attracts international students from 27 countries. Since 2007, this program has started to operate, and till the end of January, 2012, 96 students have graduated. Currently, there are 68 students of Master’s degree program, and 23 visiting scholars.
