Vice-Provost Venkat Allada of Missouri University of Science and Technology visited Fudan Graduate School

On March 19, Prof. Venkat Allada, Vice-Provost of Graduate Studies, Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA, visited Fudan Graduate School for academic exchange and cooperation. Prof. Chu Yiwei, Deputy Dean of the Graduate School, and Prof. Shi Yiwei, Deputy Dean of the School of Information Science and Technology, met and exchange ideas with Prof. Venkat Allada.

 
Vice-Provost Venkat Allada made a detailed introduction to the cooperative research and exchange program at Missouri University of Science and Technology, and its cooperation with Chinese institutions of higher learning. Deputy Dean Chu Yiwei introduced the international programs at the graduate level, particularly the CSC program. Deputy Dean Shi Yiwei introduced the graduate cultivation models at the School of Information Science and Technology. Both sides carried out initial understanding and communication, and explored the feasibilities of cooperation in such areas as information management and computer science.
 
Prof. Venkat Allada deliver a presentation, entitled The Graduate Education at Missouri University of Science and Technology, and answered a host of questionsconcerning its scholarship programs, Ph.D. education, for graduates from relevantdisciplines of Fudan.
 
Located in Rolla, Missouri, USA, Missouri University of Science and Technology is founded in 1870. Its former name is Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy, which is mainly devoted to mining and metallurgy. In January, 2008, it was officially renamed as Missouri University of Science and Technology. It is a comprehensive university, focusing on engineering science, and covering such disciplines as engineering, humanities, sociology, arts and business.
